Terms of Use
Effective and last updated: October 2, 2026
1. What this is
One Less Thing is a free, personal project operated by Rei. It offers informal ideas, practical support, research, writing help, and a human perspective when Rei has the time and ability to help.
Sending a request does not create an appointment, professional relationship, fiduciary duty, attorney-client relationship, doctor-patient relationship, therapist-client relationship, or any promise that Rei will respond or provide a particular result.
2. Agreement and eligibility
By submitting a request, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and agree to these Terms, the Privacy Notice, and the Disclaimer. If you do not agree, do not submit the form.
3. Your responsibility
You remain responsible for your choices and for checking information before acting on it. Important, time-sensitive, or high-stakes decisions should be reviewed with an appropriately qualified professional.
Provide accurate information that you are entitled to share. Do not send passwords, payment-card information, government identification numbers, medical records, legal files, intimate material, confidential business information, or another person’s private information.
4. Acceptable use
Do not use the site to threaten, harass, impersonate, defraud, break the law, invade privacy, interfere with the site, upload malicious material, or seek assistance that would harm another person. Rei may decline, stop, or remove any request.
5. Availability and communications
The service is provided as time permits. No response time, availability, accuracy, completeness, or outcome is guaranteed. Email and internet communications may be delayed, filtered, intercepted, or unavailable.
6. No warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site and any response are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. Nothing on the site is a promise that a suggestion will fit your circumstances or produce a particular result.
7. Limitation of responsibility
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rei is not responsible for loss or harm arising from reliance on the site, inability to use it, delayed or absent responses, third-party services, or actions taken after receiving informal help. This section does not exclude responsibility that cannot legally be excluded.
8. Changes and governing law
These Terms may be updated for future requests. The version shown when you submit applies to that submission. Hawaiʻi law governs these Terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, subject to any law that must apply.
9. Questions
Use the request form and begin the message with “Terms question.”
